We are delighted to share that Alex Iscru, one of our international students from Romania and a current Master’s student in Sport and Exercise Psychology, has been appointed as the sport psychologist for the Romanian Olympic Men’s Sabre Team. He is also a Sport Psychologist Intern, part of the Mental Health and Safeguarding Group at the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee under the supervision of Dr. Alina Gherghisan, the sport psychologist of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee.

In addition, Alex represented Team Romania as a Young Olympic Ambassador at the 65th Young Olympic Ambassadors Session in Ancient Olympia, Greece. During the session, together with Mihaela Mitu, his colleague from the International Relations Department at the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, they won the inaugural ISOH Olympic History Youth Competition, organized by the International Society of Olympic Historians (ISOH) in collaboration with the International Olympic Academy (IOA). The competition attracted 50 entries from across the globe and was judged by a distinguished international panel.

Following this success, Alex has been invited to present his work at the General Assembly of the International Society of Olympic Historians, which will take place from 6–9 November 2025 in Istanbul, Turkey.

We extend our sincere congratulations to Alex on these remarkable accomplishments and are proud to support his continued journey as both a scholar and a professional in the field of sport and exercise psychology.
